Eduction, Training and Consulting

Q. If I attend an Instructor Program does this certify me to teach the class?
A. Our instructor programs are based upon the assumption that you already have some authority within your organization to train others. Our programs simply show you the best way to teach this class and a hands on approach to setting up any competency courses that may be involved. Our “Train the Trainer” programs are intended for you to be able to go back to your organization and teach that specific class. This is not a state certification.

Q. What classes are scheduled at this time?
A. A complete listing of the classes that VFIS and ESECG have scheduled at this time can be found on our website, www.vfis.com . You will need to choose the “Education & Training” section and then “Browse Seminars and Workshops”. Registrations can be done on-line

Q. What is the pricing for the classes that VFIS and ESECG have to offer?
A. Pricing varies. Please contact us at 1-800-233-1957, for specific pricing.

Q. Is there a prerequisite to the Emergency Vehicle Driver Training, “Train the Trainer” class?
A. VFIS does not have any mandatory prerequisites, however your department may have prerequisites that they abide by.

Q. Where can I find Certificates to give to my students, showing that they attended a class?
A. They will need to be issued by the instructor using the template in the instructor’s kit. Please note that these certificates do not have form fields. You must print the certificates and fill them in by hand.

Q. How can I host a VFIS training program?
A. VFIS insurance clients can host classes by calling 1-800-233-1957 and asking for the Education and Training Department. Subject to VFIS approval process for host location.

Q. How can I order the materials featured on your website and/or in the Resource Catalog?
A. You can order materials by way of any of the following:

• Fax orders to (717)747-7028.
• Call in orders to 1-800-233-1957 and ask for extension 7961, Nichole Redding or Kim Frantz extension 7964.
• Place orders from the online store.

Q. How can I obtain free materials?
A. We offer most of our materials complimentary for the first copy (reduced cost thereafter) to our VFIS Insurance Clients (call or see your client catalog for details). If your organization is not insured with VFIS, there will be a charge and some of the items will not be available to you unless you would take that specific class. We also have many free downloads available to anyone who may be interested on our website, www.vfis.com, under the “Resources” section.

Q. Where can I find the various checklists and forms that VFIS has to offer?
A. All of our forms can be found on our website, www.vfis.com. Chose the “Resources” section on the left hand side of the screen. All forms found in this section are offered as free downloads and can be printed directly from your computer.

Q. When does my certificate expire? / When should I recertify?
A. This is not determined by VFIS. It is determined by your department and the Authority Having Jurisdiction.

Q. Can I have someone from VFIS come to my department and teach a seminar on Harassment and Discrimination?
A. While we do carry the Harassment and Discrimination Package (DVD and CD-Rom) we do not send our instructors out to do this type of training. This training is meant to be done by a Chief Officer or Training Officer from your organization.
